Meet Our Esteemed Speakers
Key-note speaker:
Catharina SIKOW-MAGNY joined the European Commission in 1997 and is currently the Director responsible for Green Transition and Energy System Integration in the Directorate General for Energy. Before that, she was the Head of Unit in charge of Consumers, Local Initiatives, Just Transition. Before that she was the Head of Unit responsible for Networks and Regional Initiatives. She has as well worked on international transport, trans-European network policy and financing, internalisation of external costs, and strategic policy research. Before joining the Commission, Catharina Sikow-Magny was a team leader and chief economist in the private sector in Finland. She has also worked for the United Nations Development Programme in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She holds a Master of Economics degree from the Aalto University, Finland.

Jérôme LE PAGE
Jérôme Le Page chairs the Electricity Committee at EFET, the European Federation of Energy Traders.
With 15 years of experience in the energy field, Mr Le Page coordinates the advocacy initiatives of EFET on wholesale electricity market design at European level. He also oversees the harmonisation of national electricity frameworks across Europe, and the integration of renewable energy and new flexibility sources into the wholesale market.
Mr Le Page has a background in Law and Economics (Paris Sorbonne University & University of Cologne).
As head of the Regulation & Market Design team in ENGIE Global Energy Management (Power), Ms Robaye is highly involved in the integration of Electricity markets in Europe. Her degree in engineering, combined with 8 years on the field experience within ENGIE trading room allowed her to have a pragmatic and operational view on the functioning of electricity markets in Europe. In particular, she developed knowledge and expertise in portfolio optimization and hedging of assets in a merchant market environment.
One of her current key areas of interests is the integration of day-ahead and intraday markets and in particular, the related capacity calculation. Ms Robaye is chairing the Market Integration & Network Codes Working Group at Eurelectric. Ms Robaye is also co-chairing the CORE Flow Based Consultative Group.
Mátyás VAJTA
Dr. Mátyás Vajta, CEO of HUPX, graduated as a lawyer from Catholic University of Péter Pázmány and as a lawyer-economist from Budapest University of Technology and Economics. His career at HUPX started ten years ago in 2010, when Mr. Vajta became the Head of Market Surveillance and Back Office at the newly founded Hungarian Power Exchange, where he worked for two and a half years. He continued his professional path in the field of energy by working in the Hungarian Transmission System Operator – MAVIR Ltd. from 2013. At MAVIR, he fulfilled important positions as the Head of Department of Renewable Energy Sources and Director of Market Operations. In 2018, he was the CEO of KOM Central Smart Metering Ltd., a subsidiary of MAVIR Ltd.
During the past decade, Mr. Vajta took part in several electricity market related projects. As one of the first employees in HUPX, he played an important role in building HUPX Ltd. as a company and was part of the implementation of the day-ahead and physical futures markets of the PX. He was also involved in the creation of the CZ-SK-HU and 4M market couplings, and the XBID LIP15 project. Being the Director of Market Operations he represented MAVIR in numerous international projects such as the Single Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC), the Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC), the Core Capacity Calculation Region, the Core Flow-based Market Coupling project, the DE-AT-PL-4MMC (“Interim Coupling”) project and actively participated in several working groups of ENTSO-E.
Dr. Mátyás Vajta returned to HUPX in 2020 and has been leading the Hungarian organized electricity market as the CEO of the company.

Ms. Beltracchi has worked for Nord Pool since 2014 as Senior Adviser Public & Regulatory Affairs, where she has been mainly responsible for ensuring compliance with the 2015 CACM Regulation. More recently, she was involved in the Electricity Market Review. Ms. Beltracchi has been chairing the NEMO Committee Governance Task Force since November 2022. Prior to joining Nord Pool, Ms. Beltracchi worked on European energy and climate change policy in the public and private sectors in Brussels and London.
PANEL SESSION: THE UPCOMING DEVELOPMENTS
André ESTERMANN is the TSO Market Coupling Chair responsible for all matters TSO-only as well as TSO matters in Single Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC) and Single Intra-Day Coupling (SIDC). He holds a PhD in Economics as well as an MBA. At the German TSO 50Hertz he heads the international activities in System Operations with more than 20 years of experience in energy sector.
Cosimo CAMPIDOGLIO serves as the NEMO Market Coupling Chair, overseeing NEMO-specific affairs, including those related to the Single Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC) and Single Intra-Day Coupling (SIDC). He’s Head of Market Monitoring, Analysis and Statistics at GME, the Italian Energy Exchange, representing GME in many EU fora related to coupling projects.
Jasmina TRHULJ is a Diploma Electrical Engineer for Power Systems employed as Head of Electricity Unit at the Energy Community Secretariat in Vienna. Her 25-year professional career in the energy sector started as a research and development assistant on power system operation and control projects at Mihajlo Pupin Institute in Belgrade. Last 18 years she is working on the development of the electricity markets in line with the EU acquis, initially as senior expert for electricity at the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia (AERS). Since May 2013, she has been employed at the Energy Community Secretariat. Currently, her responsibilities, among others, include activities on facilitating electricity market developments in the Energy Community Contracting Parties and their integration into the single European market for electricity.
She graduated from the School of Electrical Engineering of the University of Belgrade, Serbia.

Mr. Lanza been collaborating with the Italian Regulatory Authority for Energy Network and Environment in the past 12 years, mainly working on the integration of the European electricity market and its extension to the Balkans Region. He carried out his activity, among others, within the CACM TF of ACER EWG and ECRB EWG.
NEMO Committee Representatives
Kata FEHÉR is the NEMO Committee Reporting and Communication Task Force Leader (TFLD). She is also the TFLD of the Communication TF of the Market Coupling Steering Committee. She is a senior market expert at HUPX, has been working with the Hungarian NEMO since 2010.
Rafael Gómez-Elvira GONZÁLEZ is the chair of the NEMO Committee, former NEMO co-Chair in the SDAC Joint Steering Committee. PhD in Industrial Engineering, he has more than 25 years of experience in energy regulation and currently serves the OMI Group as Director for Public Affairs & Marketing.
Hilde ROSENBLAD is the NEMO Committee Technical Task Force Co-Leader, senior advisor at NordPool Emco.
